Networks, who'd have 'em? When they work there are a technological miracle, when they won't they are a mystery. Last night I went offline for no apparent reason. After spending an hour troubleshooting I isloated the problem to the router. All well and good but no obvious fix to my dilemma. So, today I phoned technical of the hardware manufacturer, to be told that the router had gone bad. Yes, I could have told you that an hour ago, dummy!

So then I tried directly connecting one of the PCs through the modem. It wasn't going to play ball, wouldn't even give me an IP address. So I left it and went and did something else for 40mins or so, when I came back to the PCs low and behold, they were connected again, weak signal but connected none the less.

You know, after all that, I still don't know what happened. The router still isn't working properly, so at least I get a replacement out of it. Let's hope the next one is more stable.
