I didn't spot it straight away, but the little moneys shipped my laptop with a US keyboard!
In other news, the NIC still refuses to work, despite my attempts to troubleshoot - oh what fun.
Still despite all that, the laptop *is* gorgeous. Look, here's a picture of it:
