All hail to the Goddess Sq'waht 

For those of you that are interested, I came to a decision last night to go back to my weight training. I've downloaded yet more motivational stuff and I'm now fired up to give it another shot. Thankfully, I managed to find my 8 minutes pack amongst my packing and whilst I may not follow the 8 minute rule religiously this time (hell, I might even do more!) I will be using the cards as handy guides to muscle groups.

Now some of you may well be thinking, OMG she wants to be one of those muscle-bound body-building freaks!??! And to you I'd say you're dead wrong. Weight training is still the most effective method of burning calories. You see, I carry on burning lots of calories long after I've finished my exercises.

You can diet all you want, but you'll never tone that muscle without pushing a few weights. I want to look slim - I do not want to look like Fatima Whitbread! (Gawd bless 'er). Women don't bulk up like men do anyway, we lack the hormones!

I'm annoyed at myself for stopping. Considering I was dropping about 2lbs a week (and keeping it off!) I'd look very different now if I hadn't talked myself out of it!

Anyway I did my first set last night and my pecs are sore, so that's a good sign. Today is a rest or cardio day as I see fit and then more weights tomorrow and this time I'm making a note of what I do and don't do - so no more slacking!
