Unless you've had your head in a pit for the last two days you won't have failed to notice the rather large bonfire at Buncefields Depot in Hemel Hempstead making headline news.

Now you may not already know this but Buncefields lies about 3-4 miles away from my house, so for a change, I actually now the geography behind the headlines.

Buncefields lies next door to one of the major retail parks called Maylands Avenue, which services the Hemel Hempstead area and beyond. This means that all the major depots lie within the cordon and are inaccessible. This is bad news for businesses like 3Com, Marks & Spencer, Dixons and Currys who all have either depots or offices there.
